Norwegian wooden spoons carved by Petter Lasseson Oye, ca. 1850s. Petter's son Louis brought them with him to the USA when he immigrated in the 1860s. The large one (approx. 18 inches long by 4.5 inches wide) was used for the cooking, the smaller used for serving. They are well preserved but seem to have seen a little bit of use.
