Gjertrude & Petter had 8 children, 5 of whom immigrated to the U.S. between 1866 and 1893.
Their children gave them 37 grandchildren, of whom 12 lived at or near their home at Oye in Laerdal.
Pitter died on January 9, 1898, and Gjertrude died the following month on February 22. Both ar buried at the Hauge cemetery in Laerdalsoyri.
