East Gausdal, Oppland, in Norway's Gulbrandsdal valley,

OLINE* JOHANNESDATTER OLSON**
(of) GRAVERSTUEN,
born on May 11, 1864 at "Kalykagen" gård (probably Kallokkjen gård near Tande),
in Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway just east of Lake Mjosa
Niels and Oline apparently met in the Jamesville township area of
Yankton County, Dakota Territory (South Dakota), where their parents
had established homesteads nearby each other.
They married in 1884, and
in 1885 Oline gave birth to the first of twelve children.
They lived at their Jamesville township farm for the rest of their lives,
where Oline passed away in 1931, and Niels in 1945.

* Oline probably was given the middle name of Synneva. According to notes written by her daughter Rangvie Marie, Oline's middle name was Lynneva or Synneva. The latter was a particularly popular name in Norway at that time.
** Oline's family used her father's patronymic -- Olson -- as the family name in the United States.
